Adult Lacrosse Officiating Clinics
Our final US Lacrosse classroom training for boys' lacrosse officials will be held in the cafetorium at Guerin Catholic High School in Noblesville IN on Sunday February 21st 2010. Guerin Catholic is located at 15300 Gray Rd. Noblesville, IN 46062. Gray Road is east of Meridian and the school is just north of 146th street.
The cost for the clinic is $35. Checks can be made to ILOA and paid on the day of the clinic. You will receive a rule book and training manual at the clinic. When you pass the exam you will receive 2 patches for your referee shirt.
You must register for this clinic in order to receive needed training materials to become certified by US Lacrosse. If you are not registered you won’t get materials. Registration deadline is Wednesday February 10th. No exceptions! You can respond to this email or email me at

This training is for youth officials who will be reffing in programs for 3rd -4th and 5/th 6th-grade house leagues this spring as well as for adults who were unable to attend the 1/31/10 session in Indianapolis for high school lacrosse.
If you are a high school grad at least 19 yrs old you are eligible by US Lacrosse to officiate all games at all levels. If you are 14 years old you can be a Junior Official and referee games where you are two years plus one older than the boys who are playing. For example a 14 yr old can ref 3rd-4th grade. Lower level games will be assigned by local youth lacrosse organizations. We are conducting the training so that younger officials are registered and insured.
Please bring a whistle (Fox 40 preferred) and yellow officiating flags if you own them for the stations. We will have flags available to share and a limited number of whistles for sale at the training.
If you are a current USL Official (Youth or Adult) who passed the exam last year you do not need to take the test again this year.You must be a current USL paid member and you must be listed as an official with US Lacrosse. It is your responsibility to do this. If you don’t you will not be insured and will not be eligible to officiate games. This applies to Youth Officials as well.

1. Join US Lacrosse as an official or renew your USL membership (returning refs).

3. Complete USL Classroom Training course offered through ILOA (new refs)
4. Attend a Mechanics Stations clinic to demo field mechanics (new & youth refs)
5. Pass Level 1 USL exam with a score of 80 or higher (Level 2 Optional) (new refs).

7. Pay annual dues ($35 currently) or for new refs pay $35 materials fee.
8. Provide availability to the ILOA assigner Clint Carter for the Spring Season.

For liability insurance purposes no game assignments can be given to anyone who is not an active member in the US Lacrosse Officials Program. For financial reasons no game assignments will be given to returning officials who have not paid their $35 ILOA dues for 2010.
